This past week I noticed that my MPG went way down. Yesterday driving back from the airport I noticed that my boost guage wasn't working. The line going into the rubber boot had come out. I put it back today with a tywrap. Could this cause a drop in MPG?
rubber boot in the boost gauge?? my auto meters have brass fittings at both ends..loss of boost does hurt MPG..but not alot..the well bellow 0 we had the last couple weeks has alot to do with alot of the MPG loss..they need to work hard to stay warm...
I have Autometer guages and they come with a plastic T that goes into the map line. There is a rubber adaptor boot that the 1/8" boost line goes into. I want to change it out to brass but am having a tough time finding the fitting here.
I think anytime there is an abnormality in an engine, it eventually winds up showing in a fuel economy loss.
Just like tires below pressure not only unevenly wears the tires, it also hurts your fuel economy. A boost leak would mean you are not getting all the power from the fuel you are burning. My 2 cents worth anyway....
Hey Jim how's it going? It is not likely that the line for the boost gauge would cause a mpg drop. have you noticed a drop in power?
Hey Tracy It's going ok still haggling with the insurance co though.
A little drop in power but not much. There is a lot of ice on the roads here so I have to drive like Grandpa..... I have been in 60T it seems to be better for these road conditions.
