OK, what is up with my outside temp indicator; 05' f250 PSD automatic climate control. It has worked great up until last week - dead nuts on outside temp reading. Now it is 10 degrees warmer than what it should be reading. We had some -10 degree days and right after that it puked... any ideas?
It does need airflow to work properly. They generally start to rise artificially if you are stopped idling for a long time or especially upon a warm start after sitting for a short period. The sensor itself is located behind the grill, in front of the rad towards the drivers side.
Yours could have gook/snow/leaves on it or be going bad. Or you flipped the display to Celsius instead of Farneheit by accident??
Maybe I should have started a new thread, but I have a question about mine. My display has always read -40 no matter what. I know I need to replace my sensor, but I cant find it. I have had the grille and bumper off before and still cant. I am a body tech, so for me to not be able to find something like that something is wrong. Does anyone have a pic of what it looks like?
They pop off easy. Mine did and feel against the radiator. It stayed 10 to 15 degrees high all the time. There were two holes it snaped into. Stuck it back and it's dead on again.
I will check to make sure it is still in the mounting bracket. But, it can sit all night and reads low before I even start it. Normal driving does not appear to affect it - just about 10 degrees high.
