97 F150 4x4 ext cab xl 8 foot bed 4.6l V8 Romeo. broke a torsion bar for the left side, sticker with the code on the bar are long gone, Ford says my VIN number shows a code but dont match there codes, my sticker on the driver side door shows a code 5 D, but that wont break either at the Ford parts desk at local dealer, does anyone know when the codes changed or is there a table showing interchangeability? there are like 13 different codes and I think mine started with 'G' which lowers it to 4 codes, trying a GB first but may be hit and miss.

Hey Thanks Steve, I do have a 5 and D so I figure its a GA....Man are those things frozen in there, been hitting them with a hammer and the wont budge. gonna use a plasma cutter on the bar near the adjuster and try to press it out at work with the 80 ton press, dont know what I am gonna do with the front end on the lower control arm, the manual says relieve the pressure and it pushes right out or use a brass drift, my drift is like 2 inches shorter now and 3/4 of an inch wider and it still hasn't budge.
