SMITTY"S are mufflers used in the 50-60 which produced aunique mellow sound not like the raw sound of today. Pick up a catolog from SPEADWAY MOTORS

I'm not sure that today's eng would sound the same. This is a very nice catolog.Any bought from them?

Check Reds Headers in Ft Bragg Ca (www.redsheaders.com, I think) he sells the current version of the Smithy glass pack mufflers. I have one (!) on my 50 Ford with flathead 6, was the same price as a cherry bomb, and looks cooler, but I think the sound is pretty much the same as a standard glass pack.

what do these sound like compared the glass pack on one of today's engines. i have a 79 400 and am thinking of getting new glasspacks or the smithy mufflers. any imput would be nice thanks
