1960 f250

Just bought a 1960 F250 with a 312 Y block. Been doing a little research and found out some interesting things about these motors but having trouble finding parts. The truck has a 12 inch lift so i know the motor is going to struggle a little bit to pull the truck around. Looking to add some power to the motor. On a tight budget, what would be the best things to do and where is a good place to find parts. Also, any info on the Y block would be great.

Here is a good place to start FORD Y . You should get a positive ID on the block and heads first. Best bet is your engine is a 292 and not 312, but the block ID will help in determining that. Depending upon what parts you need, ebay often can save some cash. Do an ebay search using Y-block in both the title and description.

Thanks. I'll get the numbers tomorrow and make certain which motor it is.
