Extended warranties

I my self did not get one at time of purchase, but do plan on
getting one before to long or atleast before the factory one expires.

The question is do you get one threw ford or a after market insurance
co. I've heard commercials for extended warrenties from some co.'s
but have never looked into them.

What are you guys doing for exten warr.'s ?

Unless you have a large pocket of cash I believe warranty with a diesel
is manditory imo

Sorry bout all them smiley's got carried away

Ford ESP's are definately the way to go, but make sure that you shop around as prices can vary greatly...

and also this one:

And lastly, PM or otherwise to get the attention of member BIGKEN. I think he can help you.

And +1 on nothing else except genuine Ford ESP warranties.

I would only buy a warranty from ford..... I was about to spend 3k on a aftermarket warranty then started searching the net and a guy on a different forum bought the same warranty on his truck it was a 03 sd psd and the motor went. It ended up costing him 1500 or more to get the motor replaced as the warranty company wouldn't pay the ford tech labor rates and it also did not go by ford labor allowances on tim for the job. Lastly they wanted to put a used motor in the truck instead of replacing it with a new one..... The guy did avoid a $13000+ bill but still had to pay about $5000 to get his truck fixed and he was down for a week or to while the warranty company was trying to get out of the claim. His truck was out of factory warranty with something like 40k on the odometer. (Out of warranty by years). That is why I decided to just put the cash for the warranty in a saving account and wait and see if I get lucky.

+2 on sticking with the Ford ESP.

I got one for the gals Escape and it expires this July and so far it has not been worth it. As of right now we are about $600 in the hole. Some warranty work has been done but not enough to cover the cost of the warranty.

I went through Ford of Greenfield (Sweeney Ford at that time) and received the best price.

+3 on the ESP. A lot of the aftermarket warranty companies are just a lot of smoke and mirrors. They will spend more time and money trying to get out of your claim than it would take to just go ahead and cover the repair. I've always gotten it on my vehicles and haven't regretted it yet. If nothing else, it's extra insurance and peace of mind. Like was said above, shop around because prices can vary. Also, if money is a concern, most of the sellers of the ESP have setups where you can have it deducted from a credit or debit card in equal monthly payments for different lengths of time.

there is only 1 real option..

get a FORD ESP..

all the aftermarket ones arent worth the paper they are written on..think of a aftermarket warrenty as a one way deal.. u give them cash. and they never return it..

I got one when I got the truck. It's a 7 years 70,000 mile warranty. I would buy a Ford without one.

Two weeks ago, I called a dozen dealers and contacted others with online offerings. I specified Ford OEM warranty only; Premium Care with the length of time and miles, and deductible I wanted.

A Ford-Trucks advertiser beat all other offers for the exact same product by $1000. No BS. I had a couple dealers tell me he had to be peddling some aftermarket crap, as that price was "below their cost". So after repeated clarifying emails and phone calls, I bought it from him. I then waited a week and called Ford directly- asking them if indeed it was a Ford OEM product and to check that it was assigned to my VIN number. No hesitation- it was.

I am delighted and can without condition- recommend you contact Try Dietrich in Greenfield, MA; 413-774-2247/Troy Dietrich [TDietrich@FactoryDiscountWarranty.com]. Easy to work with, did exactly as asked, and never got pissed as I ran him through the mill making sure this was what I wanted. Don't bother with other calls- he's your guy!

Remember even some/many Ford dealerships (amoung others) sell non-Ford warranties so make sure it's a "Ford" warranty. Always fully read your warranties including the small print. I have seen too many people complain about things they think should be covered as well as deductible amounts.
