Would bucket seats from a 66 (original) fit in 61-64 trucks? Original mounts and tracks. I know that these are mustang seats, and were installed in 66, on a 66 250. Are the floor mount areas the same from 61-66? Will these fit without modification on a 64?
Robert, I dont know the differance's between the years and how the seats bolt up, But if they are the same through the years and fit.... i know where to get the Ranger bucket seat brackets that go between the floor and mustang seats, i bought them for my truck and they put the seat right at the perfect hight and angle, I am very happy with the way it turned out.
Edit: Ok i just measured my bench seat from bracket to bracket, comming up with 43 1/2 - 44 inches, compare your truck to that.
I think it would be ok...the part of the pan itself the seat sits on is flat and so on...the only difference i can think that might make a difference is where the whole seat portion of the pan kicks up just under the front edge of the seat as the seat is installed...
That and the angle of the column may be a bit more uncomfy in the early trucks due to how its set up going thru the floor vs firewall on 65-6 2WD trucks.
The old style cab isn't as flat as you would think. As jacked up as this seat mount is toward the outside front (around 4"), the inside front mount is only about 3/4" tall. These Feiro seats were straight across on the original mounts but leaned way out when you sat them flat. I don't think you will find a set of seats that you won't have to build a frame for unless they are a specific fit after-market set.
The 61 to 64 seat area is the same height and dimension as a 65 66 seat area. in fact there basically the same from the rise back to 79.
Yes the seats and brackets will fit. need proof look to the XL as a pre production ranger option (buckets and console) or the 64 sport option (ranger for 65) advertised by ford with bostrom seats in the How to order a XL for 1964 Documents.. Belly room may be a little tight as CS pointed out...
