I never said there werent lemons. When you have twice as many motors on the road as the other two competitors combined, then yes, it will seem like Ford has more casualties than Dodge or Gm. When i went to buy my 06, i knew the track record of the motor that resided under the hood thanks to this and a few other forums. One tiny reason i went ahead with the purchase instead of buying a used 7.3L was i wanted to prove that these motors were better than the reputation that they had accumulated over the last few years. I will say this though. So far so good on that theory! Tows whatever i want and has done it every time i need it. Sorry you have had trouble with yours. Guess its just the luck of the draw.
Some of the 6.0 have good miles.
1 bad injector (physically broken in 2 pices) , but I did all 8.
SCT tuner and Crazy driver (me) got the head gasket, and back tires.
Turbo replaced about 207K.
Matt @ Spartan said the Engine was a virgin before he installed the injectors at ~200K . When he did the HG's and studs ~205K he said
"she's ready for another 200K" Now 209K she runs as good as my buddys 05 with 35K, and I get more MPGs.
I believe if I had not abused my truck It would have been fine with 1 injector and turbo cleaning.
Spartan ASE is the business. Just remember it's a truck not a mustang.
