Great job Chris!! Any of you thinking on doing this mod think twice don't use heater hose for your ccv mod! Oil will swell the hose over time and worst case collapse the heater hose line.Been there done that now i have industrial heater hose this wont kink and is oil proof.
When the hose just hangs there in the wind is when the hose can be closed off.
Thanks for your feedback. I failed to mention that I zip-tied the hose as it goes over the brake booster and then to the PS hose to keep it from binding up. I tried to leave plenty of slack to prevent a kink from forming but will keep an eye on things. In total, I used about 7 feet of hose for this mod. Not too many pinch points.
great write up and pics, cant wait to see your next project, anything in the works yet
Thanks, sway bar links are calling out to be changed.
Plus, I looking for some small clear lights that will illuminate the steps when I click the key fob. Seems easy enough, just running a wire from the interior cab light out to the lights. It's actually a request from the wifey.
If you're interested in using LED's, here is a link to some rather inexpensive weatherproof LED lights that are reportedly quite bright. I have several exterior projects in mind for them myself. The rubber grommet gives a nice watertight seal around the stainless shell. These same lights are available at a lot of marine supply stores, but at typically a higher price.

Thanks, Pete. A lot of cool stuff there. I mounted LED yellow running lights under the cab doors to come on with the headlights. I like the looks of the LEDs. I saw a clear rice-burner LED 2-light kit for $17 at the local AutoZoo that would work but like the MicroStars better.
Chris, love the write up and pictures. Very similar to what I had in mind, the only thing I would change is I would run the inlet into the bottom and outlet out the top fittings. The reason for this that with the design, the scrubbers would collect any stray oil before it exited onto the driveway/garage floor. With the outlet closer to the bottom it increases the possibility of oil exiting in the hose. If the hoses are reversed any oil has to fight the scrubbers and gravity to make to the exit hose. Otherwise great job and reps sent.
I have mine running down the passenger side near the exhaust all the way back to the spare tire. I ran it that way so the exhaust pipe would keep it from freezing.

Do you remember the thread you started on this and I asked you what symptoms you had Mark? Well, one symptom for me was lack of power. The first day it would barely idle. I thought it was gelled fuel and put in PS 911. When it did this the second day it ran fine up to about 35 mph then lost power and chugged real bad.
I could feel air coming out the end of my hose but in desperation I cut the hose at about the front passenger door. Problem solved and lesson learned.
