CCV Mod with filter Installed - with PICS!

What does the filter actually filter, I ran a hose all the way back to the exhaust and ran into the exhaust pipe. I was just curious as I am getting tired of te rubber tubing running all the way back to the rear of my truck.

My thought is the filter trap will grab any liquid oil vapor that makes it way down the hose. The copper scrubbers won't act like a restriction so it will still breath freely. It's just a trap. My initial thought was to use a single spin-on oil filter base with a cheap oil filter for the trap but thought it would restrict air flow too much.

So far, it didn't smoke at all, I only drove it for about a half hour yesterday but got on it good. I could smell a little oil residue but no smoke. It exits right between the driver and rear door. I'll update everyone if this changes.

I have no scientific reasoning for a 3" dia. filter housing other than I wanted something that the pot scrubbers could easily go into and have plenty of room to catch any rogue vapors that made their way down the tubing. Plus, it might be a little easier to install the barb fittings on something a little bigger than the 2".

I would take it out of the exhaust. Other than that, I have no problems with my hose that dumps at the rear axle. Never a drop on the driveway. I am not tired of my hose, don't even really think about it unless I look in the wheel well to make sure it is funtioning as intended.

Great job, Chris... exactly - EXACTLY how I've been planning on modifying my oversized monster trap. I even have the stainless pot scrubbers on the shelf in the garage just waiting for that one final component that is the hardest to come by...
