I am new posting here, however I have been looking here for quite a while. I am looking at purchasing a used Excursion or F250 Crew Cab. I found an 03' Ex Limited with 83k on the odometer. The dealer is asking $15,5. I always figure this as a starting price. The in service date was 11/03 with a build date of 02/03. I asked the dealer for an Oasis report. From that I have a few further questions...
-What is axle code 31?
-The prev owner had an issue of it running poor, Tech performed 03T02 WPI program?
-Auto Mirror not working, replaced both mirrors
-Rev Pk Sensor not working, replaced all sensors
Well the wife and I previewed the EX, it is in good shape. The leather interior is in fairly good condition. We spoke with the sales reps and got fairly close on the 2nd offer. However they were offering me 9.9% @ 60mo interest. They never ran my credit, and called it an excellent offer...yea right. Being 5 years old they said there is no lending market for this vehicle. They stated FOMOCredit would have been higher????
No wonder the US Auto market is in the toilet. They are getting people in the door and offering decent money, then hitting them with a BS interest rate offer. What are banks thinking? I am so glad we bailed them out so they can offer me 9.9 without running credit.
What do you mean you bailed out...you're not buying the truck???
You can get your money anywhere...you don't have to go through the dealer. Check your local banks or credit unions...they generally offer pretty good deals.
Don't let an interest rate get between you and a vehicle you like.
I am searching around for other financing. I searched and found a lower rate. I also checked the numbers the dealer gave me versus the monthly payment. They in no way close matched. They quoted me almost $600 a month. I ran those numbers and came up with $495. I ran my rates 6.5% and came up with $390. Someone was trying to BS me.
We might have a deal here in the next few days...
