Exhaust noises!

Exhaust noises!
Hey Guys/Gals,
I have a 83 F150, 351w, (somewhat)
stock exhaust. See I took care of the major restriction(s) that Ford installed.....anyway, you get the pic I hope. My problem is that ever since then I've been getting a sound like I have an exhaust leaks somewhere in the system. I've looked around the entire exhaust system for any signs of leakage, but to no avail. All the joints are solid and there is absolutley no leaking (that I can tell) in the exhaust. I put a "run of the mil" muffler on the thing cause I was thinking I was gonna sell the truck, but I didnt.
Do you think that this is a muffler problem? Engine runs like a top, but that sound is driving me crazy. You can really notice the sound when driving near a wall.
Also, I've placed my foot over the exhaust (while running) to help expose where this mystery leak is coming from. If there arent any leaks should the pressure of the exhaust push my foot off?
