So my abs light comes on about 1 min. after I start driving. The speedo needle bounces all over the place. Whenever I acclerate it goes to 0 but when I go light on the throttle or coast it shows the acutal speed. The need bounces it seems whenever it likes. So I went to the dealership and picked up a brand new sensor. I got all excited to get in the truck and drive it. Lo and behold the same thing happend, even with the new sensor.
What am I missing? Help me out, it is really irratating me
Thanks in advanced
Sounds like your VSS on top of the rear end.. Mine went bed a couple of years ago.. speedo not working right.. Went to Napa and got P/N 530780 for around $12.. Been good ever since..
Oh now that you put that. I did notice the overdrive light on the stalk has blinked a couple of times when driving. Is it the same style sensor as the type that goes on the rear dif?
And can I get to it from underneath the truck?
This sounds like it though
Thanks Ron
awww i would pull the stearing wheel cover off and make sure wires are good...a known problem is wire chafe in there...yes the 2 on the trans can be had from under the truck..if you could pull codes it would be big help..if the OD light blinked..it stored a code..
Awsome thanks so much Ron. I will try to get the code pulled tomorrow. I will also open the column up to see if any wires are messed up. I doubt this is it though.
I drove for a good 30 mins today and it was fine then it came back on, so back to square one again.
