I have a load screaching sound coming from either the are by the tension pulley or the A/C compressor. Anyone have any pulleys cause problems or their A/C comp? Took it to the dealer and had a diesel mech listen. Said it could be a possible bearing problem in the A/C comp. Truck only has 54k on it.
Did you have to buy the pulley from Ford? Mine does the same thing. I was thinking about replacing the tensioner pulley and the idler pulleys while I had it apart. How har a job was it? Thanks.
I know this thread is a little old, but the information in it helped me fix a constant pulley squeak and the belt squeal during shut down on my wife's "new" Excursion (with 121K miles). I ended up replacing the belt tensioner assembly that came with a new idler pulley already installed and a new V-belt.
CarQuest parts used:
Gates - Auto Tensioner - TEN 38257
Gates - Micro V Belt - RBR K081253
On a side note: I'm glad I got the whole tensioner assembly because I was able to remove the old belt off the alternator pulley by hand, so the tensioner was really weak. After I got the tesioner off, the grooved idler pulley ended up being the constant squeak culprit. The V-belt install was a PITA to do by yourself!
