Bed covers?

I have a 08 f250 short bed and I am looking for a retractable bed cover. I have seen the ones that fold back and I like that style but the problem is I have a tool box. One of the ones that sit even/below the top of the bed rails. Any suggestions?

UnderCover makes one designed to work with toolboxes but it is a hardcover, not retractable. Retractable ones will eat up even more bedspace, so if a hardcover is not an option, I'd honestly consider the soft, snap-on style.

Most all of the tonneau manufactures offer custom engineering. I think it cost us an $30 per cover to provide the measurements and them to make the cover fit. I know Roll-n-Lock offers it, and I believe Pace edwards does as well. I've also had Truxedo and Extang build custom covers to fit around tool boxes. Extang did a really nice job, truxedo's sealing system wasn't my favorite, but it worked.

I went down the same road with my '08 long box with toolbox. I called Pace Edwards and was told they did not have anything that would work with a tool box. Not being a big fan of soft covers I went with a Red's Bed cover. It's all aluminum diamond deck and folds in 3, 4, or 5 sections. It looks really nice, but.....

It leaks and I ended up replacing my tool box with one from them to get it to all work. I also had to fab a trim piece for around the tool box to make it look finished. Also, for the price ($1200), I'm really not sure the construction matches the cost.

Nice people to work with, but I can't say I would recommend their product. Good luck.

I have the standard size undercover on my SB SD. Have had it for 3 years and really like it. You can remove it in around 30 seconds and is lightweight.
