I am wanting to get some new meats under my truck. It is a 79 Ranger f150 2wd. 1st I need to put new coil springs and shocks up front so it is not so low. I have the shocks, just need the springs. I like to fish, hunt and camp and work my truck hauling quads, wood and whatever. Here is my question... Will 31x10.50's fit with no lift? This will be on a factory 15" wheel. If I remember right my old 2001 2wd had 275/65's and that was equal to a 31x10.50. and those fit fine but that was not a 1979 truck.
I ran 31x10.5 on my f150 2 wheel drive with no problems back in the early 90's. And 33x12.5 gumbo mudders on the 79 f150 4 wheel drive. I see that you are not to far from me there in goshen

33's would be cool but maybe a little to big for a 2wd.
those are 35s, not 33s. the member is doc_f250. search for his name on the Memberslist and you should find him eventually.....who knows he might be your next door neighbor, or not.
Thanks everyone for your input. I appriciate it. I am going to put new springs and shocks on it as soon as it warms up a little. My buddy is trading me some stock chrome wheels from his 90's Bronco then I'll get some new rubber. I found springs at advanced auto for $89. Not bad I thought. Heavy duty springs are $99 but I don't think I need Heavy Duty.
I would stick with 31" inch tires on your 2wd f150 I tried putting a set of half worn 32/11.50x15 dunlops on my 77 f150 2wd and they rubbed going over every bump in the road and on tight turns. Just think you will be more capable offroad with a tire that fits properly and will not rub and pop on you out in the middle of the woods.
