73 to 77 will fit your truck, the steering columns will fit from a 78/79 but they are a bit different than the 73 to 77.
Failing that go onto kijiji and ask if anyone has a column.
Or order a new one from NPD or Jeffs Bronco Graveyard.
yeah im like 450 miles from scottsbluff and ive tried 3 different columns from junkyards and none of the eletrical in them will work right example-turn on hazards, they alternate,,,put the old column in and nothing happens,,all the blinkers and everything just goes to crap
If you have tried 3 different columns, plus I assume your original column I would tend to think there is something wrong with the electrical in the truck and not the column.
The law of diminishing returns is against all those columns having the same symptons, ya know?
So, without having to look up anything on a map, are you closer to Lincoln or Omaha?
And give us more details as to what exactly is going on with your truck.
im about 40 miles south of lincoln, ok so the original column's electrical worked fine, blinkers, hazards everything. but after the shifter in it was totally trashed i tried 3 other clumns and all 3 gave me the same problems,,blinker speed varying,,indicators lighting up when the headlights were turned on and the hazards would work sumtimes or just one would blink. so there isnt anything wron with the truck electrical just the columns i tried

Why go through the hassle of changing the entire column because the shift collar is broken....which is a very common occurance.
The A/T collar is still available from Ford as are the upper/lower steering column bearings, retainers and other parts.
You failed, however to mention if this is a 3 speed manual or an A/T, the shift collars are different between the two.
The shift collar for the M/T is obsolete but is available from obsolete parts vendors and some Ford dealers.
WAHLSTROM FORD in Chadron NE has FOUR = 866-397-9532.
BIG JOHN'S FORD in Minden NE has one.
TEHRANI FORD in Valentine NE has one.
BOB ALLEN FORD in Overland Park KS has FIVE = 800-676-0675
GREEN SALES CO. in Cincinnati OH has 11 = 800-543-4959.

The two steering column bearings and retainers are about 40 bucks total.
The 1973/77 turn signal switches for A/T or M/T are still available from Ford.
I'm not listing all these parts numbers/prices till I know exactly what you have: A/T or M/T.
You can buy all the parts NEW and rebuild the column yourself. Why buy used crap that won't be any better than what you have now?
And...PLEASE, when asking questions, list all the pertinent info.
I'd have to agree that you may have other electrical problems. They may just be showing up now out of coincidence. I've had indicator lights come on with the head lights in a few trucks I've owned and I traced it down to a poor ground in the front markers or a faulty or worn out marker light socket. But if your old column worked I would also say why not take the wiring out of it and put it in one of the other ones you have. Then you could like Number Dummy said get the bearings or what ever you need to rebuild it. The column isn't hard to take apart and put back together. I've done it several times, basic tools are all you need.
