Hey Chris, we elected a new chapter leader, Andy(niceworktruck) a while ago, maybe two years or so now. Dave isn't around much anymore. He stops in to say "hi" from time to time though. It wasn't a hostile takeover, haha
That was very nice of you. Whats this about your time as chaper leader coming to an end?
Hello Chris:
Back in the Summer of 2010 my employer at that time lost their O&M contract and with the turnover I fortunately landed a job in Afghanistan within about six weeks being on unemployment.
I had been the chapter leader since the Chapter was reactivated to that time.
Not knowing what I'd have for internet access once in Afghanistan, and realizing that I'd likely be physically working lots of hours versus a desk job which I had to that point, I decided that in the best interest of the chapter that I should abdicate the throne.
Since that first trip over, which was as a fill-in worker because everyone in country was bailing out at the time, I've haven't been in the forum much because I didn't have any subsequent work stateside for a long time.
If I'm not in good spirits then I stay out of the forums less I become a drag You can see old posts during the beginings of a period of unemployment where I'm not my yepper - chipper self.
Then the home computer dies and I can't afford to replace it and end up using my wife's computer at her work after hours just to land work.
To celebrate, Root Beer is as closet as it gets here.
The base I'm at in Qatar has an allowance of three alcoholic beverages a day during the off duty hours. I'm not inclined; I've been told that none of it is watered down.
