Does anybody know anything about the auto controller for the eng startup on a 6.0 diesal. If I'm saying it right.? My 2004 F-350 starts hard sometimes and I need to know if I need to replace it or can I adj. it..?
Do you mean remote start?
Or than when you start in the morning it is hard to start?
If it is hard to start in the morning, will it start ok after you have driven it?
It is hard to start all the time.. Cold or Warm.. It takes about 10 cranks for it to start and I have changed all the fluids and filters and it still wants to hard start... I still wait about 15 sec after I turn the key but it still is hard to start.. I have heard that there is a controler on the eng that I can adj. or replace to help but I don't know where it's at..
There are no adjustments , But you can have it updated to the latest software. There are a few cold start fixes.
Are you waiting for the light to go out, or always 15 seconds? You need to wait for the light to go out. The yellow one on the left that looks like a coil.
Truck is a 2004 F-350 with 44,000 miles on it.. I wait sometimes 3 cyles for the lite to go out and it still starts hard.. I do know there is a controller on the motor and if it controls I need to know if and how to adj. it for the startup..??

For the second time there is no controller. Do what was suggested before and take it in to the dealer and tell them you would like the newest flash since your having a problem with cold starts. I would guess you might have some other issues going on, and you are under warranty so have them run the scanner on it.
Also you might want to concentrate a little more on your spelling and not making your post pretty.
It sounds like your are talking about the control for the glow plugs. No it is not adjustable. As previously stated, it might be an easy fix with a computer software update from your local Ford dealer. I would recommend having them check it out as it could be glow plugs, which I don't hear failing much in the 6 liter or multiple other things.
I like the Blue and if you don't thats your problem.. It's Ford BLUE.. The other words are adj's that I use at my word on aircraft.. Can you spell that or do you have to use the word Planes..?? I came on here to use the site to find info on my truck not to get adj'd from my spelling...

Easy there, fella! We're all here to share info and help. That kind of attitude won't get you far here.
Sounds like your talking about the GPCM (glow plug control module) Like stated, take it to the dealer, they may be able to update it etc. There is also an update for the ECM (electronic control module) that helps with cold starts.
THanks 06 silvercrew.. I do understand that could be the problem fix.. I tested the Batteries and they are find The first owner never plugged it in and I don't want to start thats all..
