Installed Fumoto

Changed the oil this morning, on the snow covered drive, and installed the Fumoto valve with the ring. I change oil over 8 times a year and this should really help make it easier.

nice. Did you need any special adapter or did the regular one work?

8 times a year? That is a lot of driving. I think that should help you with changing the oil. I am thinking about doing the same thing. I don't offroad so I should be good. How many miles do you change your oil?

I had 13 oil changes the first year I had Nyx. I didn't do it though, since I bought an unlimited lifetime oil change plan from the dealership where I got here. $700 for that plan, but their average time for an oil change is about 1.5hrs!!! I stopped using it since I'm running synthetic now, and they'll only do Rotella 15W40 dino oil. Plus they were just so SLOW!! With the time lost from work, it's cheaper & less frustrating to do it myself, and then I don't give up the keys either. I may need to get a Fumoto soon...

I installed a Fumoto on my last oil change, and i'm coming up on needing one again so it will be the first test.

I just open the Fumoto valve, punch a hole in the bottom tof the filter, and let'm drain into my 5 gallon drain pan. The used oil doesn't touch my hands. Makes for a 'cleaner' oil change. Everyone should do this.

i lifted my truck so i could fit a five gallon bucket under the pan. makes disposing of the old oil easier, put the sealed lid on the bucket when done and take it to work.

Another good reason why a "lift" is needed.
"Hey, honey, I need to put a lift on my truck to make changing the oil easier."
