Ok money and time home on leave keep getting in the way of building my bogger but Ive got an idea of what I want. Its something like this, a street rod that still sling shot across a mud pit and possibly even get beat across a trail now and then. No rock crawling bu some good thick mud pits would be in the mix. So if I bought this, then swapped my cab and bed on, keeping the front clip from this truck, would it be a good unlimtied class mud runner at the mud sling with 4 fat paddles, A possible trail/ weekend mudder with some fat 33x14 boggers, and a nasty import eater with some fat an' skinnies street tires? Whatd you guys think? Andhow much should I offer him if I did buy it? Thanks guys
It looks to be a solid built truck, but I'm wondering if the rear axle is too narrow for mud running?I could be wrongand I hope someone will come along and correct me if so.The power plant and tranny should "slingshot" you around though.
For what it is, it may be alright, but for anything that will see off road use, other than some sand, it will require a ton of re-work.
Those links are attached in single shear, and will tear off. I do believe those are 5/8" ends and are on the edge of failure.
I mean, how much of this truck do you intend to use? Its a decent 2wd platform, but other than a mild .030 over 460, what do you really have? Nothing really.
Only thing reasonable, might be the tires, but owners says they are gone. Might have been the only good part about this ride.
Not much left that is desireable. (to me)
