Rough idle/ hard start and backfired
Ok guys after getting this thing back together. It has a hard start hot issue and a rough idle all the time. It has no bottom end power hardly at all.
The thing almost sounds like a gasser running. Last night ran the mud sling at the fair and I had to pull around the pits in first because it wont hardly take off in second.
Last night after driving around town I took off and went from second to third on it pretty good and it back fired. Im going to check the uvch and push rods. Could the hpop and or the ipr be causing the problem.
I put the ad's and 17 * out of the sd motor I got.

AD's wouldn't be the issue even it still ran single shot programming. Is this the engine you just rebuilt?
I would be looking into if you have the valve timing correct or is you have a rocker arm issue.

I replaced the front cover. It started at idle and the no power all of a sudden. I pulled the idm out and apart it looks good and clean. It doesn't smell burnt. I have ipr o rings on order but stuck my ipr from the 15* in and it didn't help but it worked good before. Im gonna pull the valve covers this week.
At first I thought it was just the ipr or weak hpop. The backfire is what threw me for the loop.

Will throw a Cel on a long hard pull. But I think its from the hpop. It only does it in the higher tunes. I need a scan gauge or ae. Would help alot but gotta pay for some other things
