The EGR Cooler Bypass Kit is just block off plates. It utilizes a freeze plug on the exhaust inlet and a block plate on the exhaust outlet. The coolant still flows through the egr cooler but the exhaust is now blocked from entering the cooler, egr valve, and intake. The EGR Valve remains plugged in so that no code is thrown. You will see the benifets of doing it once you remove your intake and see the amount of soot and carbon that has accumulated. My intake had at least 1 1/2 inches of soot along the enitre length and width of the intake. Not to mention the build up on the EGR Valve itself. I cleaned both the intake and the egr valve real well before installing it back onto the truck.
