HELP: Moog upper control arm (driver's side) missing ball joint boot
I purchased moog upper control arms for the doth sides of my 98 awd explorer from rockauto. Both included the upper ball joint. The passenger side included the rubber boot for the ball joint (blue silicone) and a single fold out sheet of installation instructions. The driver's side had no boot for the ball joint and no instructions. Otherwise the ball joints are the same. Obviously I need the driver's side upper ball joint boot.
Is this something I have to purchase separately or are they usually included? rockauto doesn't sell the boot separately and I couldn't find another source.
Has anyone else installed this moog driver's side upper control arm? Did your's come with the boot? If not, where did your get one?
I've got my truck up on stands and the front end half apart so I hope to figure this out soon.
I said before that I got a moog driver's side upper control arm from rockauto and that it did not come with the boot for the ball joint. I called rockauto and the clueless wonder told me that it wasn;t supposed to be included since it wasn't in the picture for that part number. I went ahead an odered another one of the same since I could not be lieve this was the case. Got the new one today and it had the little plastic bag insid with the instructions, boot, grease fitting and new pinch bolt that I expected. I will be returning the first one with a complaint about the missing parts, and inadequate knowledge of their customer service guy. Fortunately they pay for return shipping if it is their mistake.
