My family are the original owners of a 1979 Ford E350 Quadravan purchased new from City Ford in Los Angeles and converted by Quadravan. My dad built this truck for our families forays into Baja. He spent in excess of $50K ($50K in 1979 was a lot of money). for the past 12 years the van has been stored indoors with a spun rod bearing in its 460cid motor. My dad just passed away after a long battle with Parkinson's disease and we are in the process of selling much of his estate to raise money to support my mom who survives him. Anyways, the van is a unique one-of-a-kind custom build with a full roll cage front to rear, 72 gal fuel capacity, Warn winch, Recaro seats, Art Carr C6 trans with less than 1000 miles, and a custom fabricated performance suspension that utilized NASCAR parts and technology. This 7500LB truck accelerated like a muscle car and literally handled like a sports car. It was built for running Mexican highways at speed and then going off-road to remote camping spots. The Van has 69K original miles on it. I am hoping that fellow enthusiasts like you can help me spread the word and get it sold for as much as reasonably is possible. I could part it out for a lot more money that selling it whole but I would like to see it go to somebody who will put it back on the road and build as many great memories as I have with it!! That being said, my first duty is to help secure my mom as the cost of my dad's care has taken a horrible toll on their finances.
