Any of you guys know much about or have a quadravan? My dad wanted a leaf sprung d60 in his '77 van, so in return for doing the work I got to keep the front end system for my bronco's dana 60 coil swap, which was cheap compared to what I'd spend to buy a kit. My brother likes what I've done and wants me to help him do the same thing to his '67 scout. There is no donor vehicle in this case. So my question is, what vehicle was the quadravan system taken from originally? I just assume it was. It's not the same as the early bronco system, so what is it? Thinking maybe I could track down a front end so I can start on the swap. Thanks for any info.
I found out that they are a custom fab coil spring system which I did not know. I take it these vans are not very common, either that or the van forum isn't very popular.... And now I'm just here by myself, eh, talking to myself....
Heh, rare doesnt mean valuable. In this case rare means you wont find any friggin drivetrain parts for it. The front axle is a Dana 44, but its custom. Literally, it was special ordered from Dana. The brakes, hubs, and other parts were GM. They cut the hell out of the crossmember to make it all fit. Radius arms were custom made. The transfer cause used a unique adapter to bolt to a regular 2WD C6 auto. Lots of ugly underneath those things.
