Ive gotta find that DuPont Teflon spray lube too to loosen up my hub selector as well. They sell it at Lowes for sure.
I don't think I've heard of this stuff before.... hmmm... another purchase!! YIKES!! LOL
EDIT
Well not for this application: In Guzzle's writeup:
Silicone spray, WD-40 and transmission oil soaking of the o-ring seems to loosen the o-ring in some cases but in ALL cases it appears to be a very short term solution. Petroleum based cleaners and lubricants only cause the o-ring to swell and the swelling is whatl causes the dial to bind and stick. In a very short time the dial will not turn and could be worse than before you tried to clean it.
I won't be using it personally, not for lubing the Auto-Lock selector
I emailed guzzle last night and he said to use the teflon stuff and work it back and forth til it comes loose. He said it dries and just leaves a smooth surface. He even went out to his garage and got the part # off the can for me!
i have found an aluminum complex grease that contains moly... not sure how much but it has it in it. http://www.certifiedlabs.com/certifi...Name=PREMALUBE
i have used this in my truck on everything from kingpins to u-joints with no problems

Yeah, and what perfect timing for this thread to be resurrected! I have my cryo'ed rotors coming today and was going to ask about what to use for the bearings. Now I don't have to... Gotta love it!
I agee 100% Joe! I went out & bought both a tub and a tube of the Belray grease. It's pretty much all I use now. And since you're viewing this thread Jeremy, how is that Cummins doing?
It's doing great! I've got over 12,000 miles on the conversion and haven't had any major problems to speak of. I've just been driving it and enjoying the heck out of the thing.
Edit: Guess I need to change my sig graphic as well, because the Evil Twins Dual CP3 kit is already on. Got it installed sometime back in April.
I'm planning to lube my auto-lock hub per GUZZLE's PAGE
I'm looking for a recommendation on the following:
1. Parts cleaner solvent safe for nylon & neoprene rubber
2. All purpose white grease
3. Good quality axle grease
4. Grease for the bearing
I know many of you are either A) mechanics by trade, or b) awesome "shade tree" mechanics. I've got plenty of confidence in my mechanical skills, but whenever I can get advice from those more knowledgeable, I gladly take it.
Stores I have near me:
NAPA
Checker Auto
Advanced Auto Parts
I plan to do ball-joints soon, as well as changing the front diff fluid too. I already have:
Permatex Black Hi-Temp RTV silicone sealant
Permatex Hi-Temp RTV copper sealant
NAPA Syl-Glide
Just in case those were going to be listed. Thanks all!!
2. I used white lithium grease (tube and spray)
3. and 4. Mobil 1 (in my grease gun)
Good luck on your ball joints! I just did mine a few weeks ago. Took a while but the truck drives SSSOOO much better!
