I was thinking about doing a muffler delete on my truck. It's not bad now, but i want that true diesel sound, it's just to quite. Am i better off leaving it alone? If i do it, will i be losing any power? Will the sound be over bearing or will it sound good? Any feedback will be great!
Now should i just cut out the muffler and take a piece of 4 in. exhaust pipe and weld it in there, or is there an actual pipe that you buy that should go there?
When I had my muffler taken out of my stock exhaust I just took to my local muffler shop, and the charged me 25 bucks to take out the muffler and replace it with a piece of straight pipe.

that is exactly how much a local shop charged me. Love the sound and I immediately noticed a drop in EGTs.
yep it sure does. The more your truck can breathe, the lower the egts. If you really want to get those egts down, then get your self a 4" or 5" after market exhaust.
I personally hated the straight pipe it sounded like crap under load with alot of flutter when I had my window down, I put a 4in and a hog muffler on my truck.
I'm not the original owner of my truck and my exhaust is 3.5 inches. So is this an aftermarket exhaust? I do have the muffler so thinking about getting rid of that.

I already have a 4" Bully Dog exhaust on it but i am still not happy with the sound. A buddy of mine did the muffler delete on his magnaflow system and it sounded awsome. Will it make a difference that i already have an exhaust system and if so, for better or worse?
That is a factory exhaust that you have you might consider getting an aftermarket 4in

Mxracer, If you already have a 4" exhaust then straight piping it in my opinion does make it sound better. I just really like the sound of the straight pipe no matter what size exhaust you have. Tdpower, 3.5" is the stock size exhaust on these trucks, so the exhaust you have should not be aftermarket,(I've never heard of a 3.5" aftermarket exhaust) the truck probably came from the factory with that exhaust on it.
