I was wondering about how LPG survives in -20F or -30F weather. The folks living in Fairbanks talk about the stuff not wanting to vaporize in those temps, and sometimes gelling.

The move to ethanol fuel has been very badly managed, like a lot of things. I can't help but feel that the farm lobby had a lot to do with pushing corn as the feed stock. That was too touchy a subject to bring up during the Iowa caucuses.

By the way, I'm sorry about all those folks having to brave sub-zero temperatures, or the Washingtonians facing flooding from the early melt, as I will be facing 80's for the next few days. I've never seen that in January, even in SoCal.

There are 3 systems are available on market now.

cheappest for carb engines - ejector plate between throttle body and plenum,
the other one - central LPG injectoin, to install it in shop machnics drill one hole in TB to install injectror ore some holes with LPG injection hub. They can use OBD-II data for LPG ECM, ore connect directly to CKP (PIP), TPS, MAP/MAF, ECT and AIT. All other functions are by stock EMC.

The third way - full electronic LPG injection. Dealer drinn additional holes in manyfold and install this system.



Some dealers use different sensors, so they add MAF on car with MAP to get better accurancy LPG:air ratio.

Hmmm... Here in the US, lpg is way more money than cng, so the conversion kits are geared for that. In the late 70's there were a number of lpg conversion kits sold, but because that gas is heavier than air, a poor installation (and a leak) caused a few fires, so there was a bad taste for the conversions. Here, the only advantage to lpg is that you can always get some fuel, because it's what most use in their grills. CNG is a bit tougher to find, in most areas.

CNG tanks are heavy. equal to 40L of gas CNG tanks are about 300 kg. so rear susp. lift kit is required too.
