I know some of you have done the conversion using various setups and I was curious if anyone has installed the dual master cylinder and hanging pedals from a C*#vy S10? Reason is that I have one thats just taking up space and I though maybe I could salvage some parts. Also along that line how about the steering column?
Thanks

You can make just about any steeing column work; if you use the pedal ensure you have something attached to the dash to support it other than just attaching it to the firewall.
Thanks Jaye
I'm hoping the entire assembly will fit under the dash like others I've seen.
As far as the column I wasn't sure if it would be long enough.
Thanks

ALBUQ F1 The S10 is an automatic. I'm really hoping the assembly will work cause it will save me some cash among time spent in the salvage yard.

Not sure what the assembly looks like but I'm sure you would always be able to modify it to fit, I bought the hanging pedal assembly from CPP and after seeing it I wondered why I didn't try and do what your asking, but now I do have a pattern to make one for my pickup when the time comes.
I feel sure you could make the steering column work. This steering column came out of an 89 Blazer. I had to get a new lock cylinder for it because I bought it from a salvage yard. I only paid $50 for it and the lock cylinder came from Auto Zone for about $12. I was going to put in an Ididit column but I like this price better.
Even if the entire hanging pedal assy doesn't work you can adapt the main components of it. I used a mid 90's Ford Focus assy in my 49 (hey, it was free...lol). I basically used the pedal, pivot, and spring assy and built my own bracketry around it.
Here's another shot of my hanging pedal from a different view. I used angle iron on the left side but had to use a piece of flat bar on the other as angle iron would rub against the cowl vent handle. I twisted the flat bar to provide for easier mounting at the dash.

bobbytnm,
That looks great it make me think back to when I first stared on my truck (1989) I basically saw it in a magazine and spent big $$$ to get it ie, front disc brakes, power brake bracket. If I had the information that is provided on this site back then I would have saved tons of money as well as quickly building my knowledge & experience on truck building.
You are very right Jaye. This is my second attempt at building a truck. My first was back in the late 90's and I had no experience building a truck. I did well on all the mechanical areas but when it came to body work it didn't go well. The neighborhood committee ended up getting the better of me so I had to let the old chevy go, but hey now I'm doing it right with a FORD and the great help of this site...Thanks guys and gals!
Thanks. I found this site while trying to figure out which gas tank to use. I stumbled upon and article of Jnoilon's about installing a Mustang gas tank and I was hooked. It sure helps to be able to talk to other people and see what they are doing/have done and to see what options are out there.
This was the bracket from the T-bird with pedal. The one brace seems to give it all the support it needs. The accelerator pedal is also from the same car.
Bobby, your system is very much like mine. I used the pedal assembly from ths same early 90's cherokee I pulled the column from. I mounted the "pedal box" in the same manner you did. It's a very solid install, like yours, 16 ga sheet metal bolted to the firewall, with angle welded to it, and the angle bolted to the bottom of the dash. The pedal box is welded to both the firewall and angle. My firewall area is much larger because I have a clutch mc in the same assembly, but very similar. Btw, Bobby, I'm going to copy your column mount. Mine is strong, but complex. Yours is strong, and simple, plus you can pin stripe yours.
Thanks! My column mount was a quickie that I whipped up to hold the column while I was messing around with the brakes and the steering linkage.
I figured I'd replace it eventually as my original plan was to build an underdash panel that that covered the area and incorporated the mount.....someday....
I'm not making much progress along those lines.....LOL
