I've searched here and have found nothing that relates to this, so I guess I'll have to call on y'all:
See sig line below for truck. Just over 100k miles on it and the clutch pedal does not travel all the way back up after I depress it. It hangs about halfway and I have to pull it up with the toe of my boot. I've sprayed the pivot with WD40 - No help.
Any suggestions besides removing the pedal and doing exploratory surgery?
not sure on super duty's, but i know on the older style there was a bushing issue of some sort, my brother had to get an updated replacement for his 97 HD 250 diesel 5 speed.
Dunno if the 5sp and 6sp are similar in design, but that happend to me and meant the master or slave cylinder going out. Replaced as an entire assembly on the 6sp. Slave, master and the tubing that connects the two come out as one unit, and no need to bleed the system as it comes prefilled.
My old '99 SD did the same thing at 80,000 mi. I started lubing the lever's actuator arm bushing with wd-40, then as that seemed to attract dirt and complicate the sticking, I switched to a dry silicone spray lube that worked real well, till one night...the linkage fell completely out of the clutch lever (bushing completely let go) and the clutch pedel went to the floor with nothing disengaging!! After killing it with the brake, I got out my flashlite and was able to get it home by duct taping the lever in place to the arm, and got a replacement bushing the next day...Suggest you replace the bushing immediately. Don't waste time trying to lube it, it is shot.
Took it to the dealer. He had the bushing in stock, and changed it out for me. If I remember the entire bill was around $38. But that fixed it. No more clutch noises, draging, or lubing.
