So if you want to slap in a set of injectors and a turbo upgrade (yes, you need this or you won't be able to clean it up) so you can make between 350-450hp, you can go hybrids and no oil mods, or go with a B code or whatever single and get better oil. Add it up and decide.
How much of a turbo upgrade are we talking here? For me it's prolly going to be a lot since I have the early turd with the smaller plenums going to the heads. I'm not looking for earth shattering HP, if I can get to 300-350 I'll be happy.
Just some thoughts. Don't know what all you and Ryan discussed JD. I know he can build some great injectors from what I have seen though. Sounds like he has excellent customer service too.
I told Ryan I wanted Hybrids and what I was wanting to do just mild power, he said Stage 2s would work great for me using the same oil as the hybrids but not worrying about headstuds. Maybe he was thinking if I had them tuned for maximum use out of them rather then conservitive tuning like you have. The Hybrids/stage 3s that he mentioned to me were 235s.

Mike upgraded to a GTP38R to put on his truck when he did the injectors.

if you dont want to up grade to the 99.5 turbo...my injectors did 436 HP with this turbo on a 97 that was up graded to a early 99...

Those are good #s Ron. Nice. Van turbo can do this too, but it is getting close the edge for it. Do you have the dyno sheet for when those injectors did that? Just curious.
That dominator is a nice unit. Certainly ought to outflow a van turbo. They do mention a BB one for higher HP.
At any rate, the stock turbo gets very unhappy when it hits 30psi. That does not allow it to make much HP no matter how much fuel you throw at it. That was my point on the turbo thing.
So basicly its kind of a waste unless you do it all at once or atleast do the turbo first before the injectors. I might just hold off on them for a while and just replace #8 with a cheap penscola injector til next year.
I just got done putting a fuel system, injectors, itp reg return, and got some tuning from Cale at BTS. I got the injectors from Beans, set of reman ACs. The truck had 230k on the clock, and will just ever plow snow, and cruise, not a power mongrol. I only got the remans, because they talked me into them, and told me they flow test the set, and match them, and Casserly does the work, who seems to be all the rave. The truck is quite the runner now, faster starts, smoooooooth idle. Just put the cores in the mail today.

keep an eye on the classifieds over on PSN..there is always injectors and turbo's for sale over there at a good price...

this sheet is on Bean's load dyno... the torque curves shows how much better the load dyno makes the truck work, on the inertia, once it has that big weight spinning the torque falls off quickly....

Just a reman set of AC's from Beans. I wanted to get new ones, but Adam had told me, they prefer the remans, for two reasons, one they make more money haha, and two they havent had any issues to speak of. I like that they are all balanced, and flow matched, by Casserly. Ive heard of some people getting idle issues with single shots, and cant remember all the issues, but between those injectors, and Cales tuning, truck idles just as it did before, 600 rpms when warm, no fluctuation. Like I said, this truck wont ever be a race car, its destined to plow snow, cruise around. But the ACs have proven to give enough traction events LOL
EDIT: Once we get done fooling around with the go pedal, and smoking out ignorant red lights that shouldnt be there, I hope to measure the mileage difference, if any haha.
So your truck had OBS injectors in it Ron? Are all the modified injectors the same for the OBS and our trucks?
there all the same when it comes to SS..i think its 94 and up.... they advertise as bigger HP gains for the OBS guy's cause they start so much less...your truck would gain less HP then my early 99 injectors did...but we would still be in the same HP range..i started out with 120cc injectors...you have 140's.. the obs i think is 90 cc single shots..
