engine making different noise what the heck !
when I accelerate recently my engine has been making a louder noise then usual that sounds a little off almost more like the sound when I rev my engine..
also when I hit the gas it kind of lags and then goes up to like 4.5 rpms.
what's going on!
please help

Tranny slipping maybe?? How is the fluid level?
FYI, we don't work here, it's not a job. 65 minutes between your 1st and 2nd posts is being a bit pushy when you're asking for help from those that volunteer their time here trying to help others.

sorry about that I was just frustrated because I was thinking about it..
It probably is the fluids considering I haven't put anything in this baby in forever (99 expo, 157,000 miles)
i just had the tranny rebuilt so i couldn't see it being that.

i'd assume they just reused the old one because we had to do it the cheapest way possible

If the old one was reused, then there's a good chance you have a problem with the TC. The TC is what actually connects the engine output to the tranny input. If this fails to transfer the power, then the engine will rev higher than normal. It kind of acts like a slipping clutch.

Maybe the added weight of the fuel changes the levelness of the truck just enough to effect how the fluid sits inside the tranny. Did you check the fluid level yet?
