I have a brother that lives in Northford.

I just got an invite to this forum- I've been hangin in the Excursion forum for several weeks now-
Back in Oct '08 I bought an 01 4x4 Excursion, v-10 that was bone stock
Since then I've added a 5" superlift suspension with Bilstein shocks, air bags with on board air and in cab controls, along with 315/70/17 BF all terrains-
Before that I owned a 2000 250SD 4x4 crew bad with 8' bed and 4" lift- and before that......well the list goes on and on

When I get to know you all a little better- remind me to tell you some good FF jokes!! lol- its all in good fun- no intention of creating tension

I got the invite today to this forum. I've seen a few ( very few ) 2008 SD's here in my neck of the woods. Anybody doing much for mods.? I have a few, but not too many. I seem to have a pretty good relationship w/ my local dealer. They have no problems w/ mods as long as they're not too drastic. How 'bout ya'll? I sure do love my truck, just not the MPG's.

 

You could ask the North Haven PD. They've got an 08 superduty.

Sorry, Jim. I missed your question. I live RIGHT on the Northford/Wallingford line. I can walk 100 feet and be in Northford. Wallingford is a nice town. Just don't buy in downtown. Lots of Mexicans and the constant whine of fire trucks. Wallingford has one of if not THE best public works department in the state. For the most part the cops are decent. There was only one little ****-whole that was around for a while. I dunno if he's still with the Wallingford PD or not.

The little **** cop tried to charge a guy with attempted murder when he cut a tree and it fell the wrong way towards the street and hit the hood of a passing car. Then the little cop tried to charge the tree cutter's friend who had dragged the tree out of the street with tampering with a crime scene. All charges were dropped and an apology was sent. The tree cutter did have to pay to fix the car that was hit which is obviously the right thing.

Overall it's a good town to live in. Our neighbor above us calls the cops on us for EVERYTHING. At this point I do all I can just to **** the old fart off. Like I'd go out at about 10:30 or 11:00 at night and start my 7.3 and just leave it running for a while. Or o out and start it at like 4:30 in the morning. They're probably REAL happy with me right now since dad and I went out to get a few gallons of fuel and the truck had a belt squealing. At one point we were on a first name basis with the cop that responds to calls in our area.

If you do end up in Northford let me know and we'll meet up some time.
