Hey Yall i have a 2000 f250 7.3 4x4 and I Was Driving Home Last Night Hit A Minor Swell Or Bump In The Road. Immeadeatly After Hitting It My Truck Started Riding Real Rough Like Driving Down A Gravel Road , Having Unbalanced Tires Or, Riding With A Set Of Ss Boggers. Anyway It Was Shocking My Truck Rides Soo Smooth Like Glass I Deffently Noticed It. I Stopped Looked Everything Was A Ok. Started Driving It Was Great Would Hit A Bump And It Would Start Vibrating. I Hit Another And It Quit. Hit Another And It Would Start Back... Wtf.. So Today I Checked Ball Joints Drag Link Sway Bar Everything And It All Was Great No Play In Anything. Any Suggestions Maby The Damper Or Could It Be The Carrier Berring In The Rear Drive Line.
Looked over the tires all seemed well there. Then I proceeded to check/tighten lug nuts and found that two rims lug nuts were not as tight as I would've liked. Tightened them up and took a test drive down a somewhat rough country road and didn't encounter the problem again. Actually felt like it braked a little smoother as well. I will keep posting here as to wether or not this was the problem/fix.
Had this happen to me last week. 99 f250 4x4 ext cab long bed. While checking things out I grabbed the ujoint at the place where it comes out of the axle housing and goes into the wheel hub. (front left). I could move the axle up and down and in and out alot. Need new bearing hub.
SOB... I figured thats what it was gonna end up bein... It started happening to me again earlier this evening so I decided to lock in my hubs and see what difference that made. No vibrations after the hubs got locked in... yet anyway. Thanks for replying ddesens.
