ok so here's what i found Via google on some other ford forum, http://www.fordmuscle.com/forums/tor...ap-update.html
the thread is actually about some kind of tranny swap but the rims he has are mentioned 3 or 4 post down, dont really like the wheels myself (too much rim not enough tire) but they are 5x5.5 bolt pattern...
"The wheels are 17x9.5 w/5.5" backspacing with 285 40s in the back."
now for clarity purpouses, is there such thing as 5.5' back spacing? that would be FAR to thick for anything wouldent it? so he must mean they're 5.5 right? right?
if you aint got nothin better to do go ahead and check out the picture link the guy has posted, it has some really good step-by-step pictures for a 5speed swap.... almost makes me wonder if the T-18 out of my truck would fit, alot of parts look identical to the underside of our trucks, or is that just how all cars are and i'm that dum? lol

Why would you want to put a T18 into a Torino?
My bro did something like that, he has a 1971 (I think) variant, he sent me some
pix & stuff over the weekend, I'm wanting to post 'em here mostly just to
encourage you/make you drool some more.
17 inches across the center of the rim, 9.5 is total depth of the rim, and 5.5 back spacing is the amount of space from where the backside of the rim meets the hub to the backside lip of the rim.
If you look at his rims, he has wide tires but not a lot of deep dish. The deep dish looks about an equivalent of a 8 inch dish rather than a 10 inch dish.
My uncle's old 68 fairlane fastback had 5x4.5lug pattern with 15x6.5 rims.
