Long and short were intake and exhaust.

My main computer is down, so I can't get to my notes right now to say which is which for sure.

I'm pretty sure the long went on intake the short on exhaust, the thinking behind that was to allow a little oil to get to the exhaust stems

hey guys, can i just run RTV on my oil cooler, or should i find the gaskets? Is there enough pressure there or stress on it that it is necessary for the gaskets?

I would find the gaskets, you have pressure from cooling and oiling system there and you don't want to squeeze any rtv into either side especially into the oil galley.

Get the O rings, Ford or International only items.

Cold start oil pressure will blow silicone out, all oil leaving the oil pump goes through the oil cooler before it goes into the engine or pressure relief valve.
