IDM failure?

IDM failure?
My buddy has a 97 Powerstroke that quit running a month ago. He took it to a local shop and they replaced the IDM and a under valve cover harness. It then ran for a month. It died again and he took it back to the same garage. They are now telling him the IDM is bad again and that it went bad because the the injectors are bad. They want to put in new injectors along with another IDM. Would the injectors going bad cause the IDM to fail again?

Not likely! I have only seen unplugged UVC harness' take out IDM. Is your friend local? If so PM me and He can have the truck towed to Mears and I can take care of him. Or we can try to talk him though figuring it out via FTE!
