IDM

Hey so I have what I believe is a bad IDM, I want to try a working one before I drop 500+on a new one. But all I have available to me is a 1998 IDM will it work to just see if everything else is functioning? If I plug it in for a minuet to see if the injectors start opening up again?

1998? Is it out of a van? I think that is the only thing available in a diesel in that year. Anyway, as long as its a 7.3 powerstroke idm, it will work. You can find remanufactured idm's on ebay and other places for 150 or less. I bought a 120V idm for a spare for 125 bucks on ebay. Tried it, worked, put under the rear seat in the spare parts dept.

not sure what it came out of exactly, we just compared numbers and its the later model, i have a 1995 van, it was the later model dim 1998-2000 or something like that.

Any 7.3 liter power-stroke IDM will work.
