bull bar

i have a 94 aerostar and i want to put a bullbar on it but im pretty sure they dont make them for aerostars and i know they share the same frame as the ranger/bronco2 and so i was wondering if one would fit from a 94 ranger i know i would have to modify the front bumper but is there anything else that would prevent it from fitting

The Aerostar does not share the frame as Bronco or Ranger. The front bumper is a couple pieces of stamped (thin) sheet metal that are welded together and then onto the front of the frame rails. They will not provide much structural support for anything significant. You would have to weld something to the under side of the frame rails to attach the bull bars to.

I am going to get a custom one built for my van (lot of deer country, don't want to ruin my van if I hit one). If you guys are interested, I can have a second one built.

Removing the bumper will require a Sawz-All or something similar. It's not bolted on like a lot of bumpers, but it is welded on, and not at clearly defined boundaries. I think parts of it are actually integrated with the very front cross member that has the lower radiator support, and sway bar mounts.

Bear River, I'd like to see what design you came up with.

well, i made of steel bumper, put U section in, enforsed rails with u-sections and L-shaped members.... But I'm not sure it is legal becouse tought front end may destroy car with fatal after effects.... May be that's why bull bars, kengoo-bars are not legal in some EU countries.....

That bumper cover may be tough, but what it's attached to is still the stock frame rails made of thin gauge steel. So if you hit something, the bumper cover may keep its shape, but it may still collapse the frame rails, especially since the front section has that pre-formed accordion shape designed to collapse on impact to absorb energy.

That's why I had to enforse railes with L-sections....

Bumper cover is not directly bolted on U-section. there are two blocks made of thiner steel to absord some energy. These blocks are easy to change. Bumper cover is held with two 18 mm bolts. I can uscrew one bolt and screw towing eye in.....

Pablo has the only Aero Tank on the road. when he builds something, it's Tougher than Ford tough.
betcha Pablo's front bumber could push Mercedes off the road. Road Warrior

remember, the Russians build some of the world's best tanks.

by the way Pablo, what does your company heat that huge truck shop with? Putin's natural gas?

NG war has just began. Ukraine gets about 32% of NG that needs.... I see NG tower around Lugansk. rest imports from Russia.... but this year Ukraine pumped so much NG to NG storage that can easily use for a year ore more, becouse 65% of naturan gas is used for chemical industry and only 25-27% for heating. Becouse of crisis industry use less NG and seems to me they need a half of NG amoun then last year... so Ukraine wants NG cheapper.... much cheapper.... nad EU wants NG cheapper too.

Our steel industry do not use NG now. They use coal and electric power for last 3years only after the last NG war. So seems to me starting up 2 atomic power station Ukraine may refuse import NG in 3-5 years....
