i have a 1997 f-350 powerstroke that is giving cyl/contribution codes but does not stick to the same cylenders when you run the test. i put 8 injectors in and still did not fix problem. it is missing at idle but not bad. when started up and reved up it stops at 2000 rpm and blows white smoke. smells like raw diesel. then clears out. when engin is hot it does not do it as bad. jason 832-647-3765
i have new wiring harness and valve cover gaskets. my cam sensor is gray but i tryid a black one from the parts store still the same. what is weird is it dosent stick to the same cyl. how do u know if it is the idm?
wow idk then , but it could be the idm but not sure on that one. mine ran fine then all of a sudden drop 4 cylinders just like that. to sounds like the idm spasin out every so often.
Might try a compression check through the glow plug holes. There may be a few that are borderline. Your lookin' for 400psi.
Might clean the fuel pressure regulator screen. Check fuel pressure on the side of the regulator with a tire psi gauge that goes to at least 80psi. Should see at least 55psi at idle.
compression is 450 on cylenders. i will check pressure with a tire gauge on schrader vaulve while at idle and get back to yall. where is the fule pressure regulator screen. if fule pressure was bad wouldnt it starve for fule going from 60 to 75 mph? it does not jump or stall when i do that it has good pick up. hell i dont know.
i guess he has the wires hooked up right. but it was doing this before we went into the engin. how do u check the icp at idel and how do u find out the ipr duty cycle. what do u mean shim the fpr.
