pretty much anything made by Johnson Controls and you'll be fine. Duralast Batteries from Autozone are made by them, and are highly rated batteries.

I'll have to look into the Johnson controls batteries, is there a list of what brands they're marketed under anywhere? Thanks for the help.

Look in the "Battery Tutorial" link, atop this forums tread listing page, for a "who makes which battery" list.

Lots of other good battery info there too!!!

I just recently change the battery in my '03 Ranger. So that makes it five years with the original Moter Craft battery. Now I have a DieHard.

We will see how long this will last.

Wal-mart batteries are also rated high for the price. I don't know who makes their batteries but they have good warranties.

I been hearing lots of bad experiences with both Wally World and Costco batteries. Most do not even last a week.

Unless they changed recently Walmart batteries are manufactured by GNB batteries which I believe is a subsidiary of Johnson Controls. I know their motorcycle/atv batteries are made by Johnson controls as it is on the packaging.

At any rate I have had dozens of walmart everstart maxx batteries with their 3 year free replacement and 6 year prorated warranty. Out of all of them I have only had one fail and I found it in a car in the junkyard. That battery lasted me 2 years and after it failed I was able to get me another very cheaply using their prorated warranty. Cost me something like $12 for the replacement. I only paid $5 from the junkyard so it was a win win.
