i wanted stage 1's.
benefits- wont lose any fuel economy unless you are hard on the throttle since they use the stock nozzle, big power increase with proper tunes, basicly a safe match for a stock turbo.
then i thought about 2's, lots more power. alot of people i had talked to with 1's say they are great but they wish they got 2's instead. the only downside to 2's are they have the larger nozzles so they can drop economy a little bit, i've read 2mpg. and if you are hard on it alot they boost in the upper 30's to over 40 psi. thats more then the stock turbo can survive on. its a toss up but i am going to get 2's when i do mine.
alos, as a comparison, they say with stage 1's and a custom chip you will be faster then a chipped 99-03 7.3 and basicly give 6.0's a run for their money.
stage 2's are just alot of power, dont forget the 2's you really need an intercooler to help control egt's and custom tow tunes since the extra fuel will shoot egt's through the roof towing.
i just got stage 2's and like them but the truck can use a lot more fuel and it seems to smoke almost all the time but its fun.. if you do the rosewood diesel shop injectors i think jim charges $50 for a worn out nozzle so if just a few of yours are bad then you are half way to the stage 2 price
alright so how much are stage 1's first of al and is it like a really big power increas how much boost do they run yo up to where can i get them and does it make it smoke a lot???
ok you can get stage I's for like $700 if no parts are needed to be replaced in the ones you got stage II's are like $1000 put you get new nozzles and i think they are $50 a piece if you have to replace them with the stage I's you can get the injectors from rosewood diesel shop and yes it's a big power increase and lots of smoke stock sticks are 90cc stage I or II's or 160cc
