Thread for us C6 guys

Well, after seeing hundreds of posts about the E4OD and its problems, I am jealous and making a thread for the C6. Now, I have not had any real problems with mine, except that it was rebuilt once and had a towing shift kit installed.

When mine is cold it searches for second gear for a few seconds and hold 3300 rpm, then when it does find second it feels like a rocket because it shifts hard and firm. Is this just the shift kit, or something else?

I'm not an auto guy but there is no telling what it is going to do at 3300 shouldnt have to search but will probably be pretty solid shift.

She winds up real tight and hold 3300 (blows a pretty good amount of smoke), then after 2 or 3 seconds she'll find 2 and it takes off real good. On loose gravel roads and real slick wet roads, it will break the back tires.

Its pretty much ok after it gets warm, it still shifts extremely firm, but it doesn't search like when it is cold.

This is the main failing with a C6. The spools are steel the valve body is aluminum. Any trash in the bore and the cold spool is so tight it will hang up. The extremely firm shift when warm is the shift kit.
