What can be done to a 7.3 to improve fuel mileage before fuel prices increase again? 2000 F350 dually, 6SP, 140K. This year new PCM, 2 new CPS, 1 new 3rd inj., Bully Dog 2 years. Thanks

What are you getting now? You can get better tunes that will help. Not the Bully Dog, but custom tunes, DP-TUNER. The 7.3 is an incredible engine, you just need to know how to massage it.

Check for boost leaks as suggested by Chris is Post #9 of your other thread.

Also check that you don't have a clogged tube going to the EBPS. This is the link for cleaning the tube but it doesn't seem to be working right now. http://guzzle.rbmicro.com/epbs.html

Here is a link that alks about EBPS. LINK

Yup. Actually on hwy 1900 is about 65MPH. Set cruise. Locally I shift sooner and run around 14 - 1600 RPM. I will eventually get 4 inch exhaust. Thanks!!!

What everyone has said, plus you might want to read the Cummins white paper I just posted to our website (look at the bottom of the Guides section on this page).

I'm guessing you have a 4.10 rear end. Isn't that typical on the duallys?

I have 3.73 and 285-65 16's and I think I turn about 1700 at 65.

With my 7.3 F-250, Crew with Hyper-tech tuner in stage 3, standard tires and 3.73 rear, I get 19-21 empty on the road and 12-13 towing my 30 ft, 11,000 pound, 12.5 ft high 5th wheel as long as I stay around 17-1800 running 65 MPH. But if I kick it to 2000 rpm I turn 70 but mileage goes to 17-18 empty an 11-12 loaded.
