This is one of my concerns since helping Rick install his single shots. I want to do mine soon, but I don't want to have to make a trip right away for live tuning. I have the DP Tuner, but Tony is alot closer for me. I really want to stay with the DP.

I would think Jody would have this down pat with the single shots by now. I sure hope so.
Roland I will let you know how it works out for me.

Hey my brother. Jody did what he could with what I told him on the phone. Besides the idle. everything else is great. I am sure that TW would do the same thing, guess at the tuning with what you tell him. I will know Monday.

What are you doing? Yes, Jody has this down pat, but you have to understand that every truck is different. If I was going to the racing tree, My truck would sound like the rest of them. MAYBE my truck is way fast.

Yep. I would think so too. As Mike said, after all the live tuning he's done with singles, you would think he would have a file already programmed for singles. But since no one else seems to have a sure fire cure all for single shots, I just figured this tuning was beyond my comprehension.

As I understand it, live tuning does much better than mail order. That's just the way it is.

If I were to hazard a guess, I would say that no two Lpops, HPOPs, IPRs, and ICPs will give the same values or performance. That coupled with all the other sensors is probably why.

And the fact that he prefers to have the flow sheets from the injectors that you are installing(or have installed) simply for the fact that even though the are listed as 175/146s they may flow + or - what they are advertised. Which will affect his final mapping.

I worked on enough vehicles and did enough hotrodding to know that modding is not always an exact science. Why do some vehicles perform better than others? It's because they just happen to have the right combination of 'companion' parts. If this weren't the case all vehicles, of the same like & kind, would perform exactly the same. The only variables would be the driver and the environment, given the same condtions. We all know this is not a perfect world and there are unique situations.

That's definitely true -- but I wonder if he will do for you what Tony did for Kris. Send you out a couple tunes with different settings for you to try, then you tell him which one runs the best. I didn't get "live tuned" either, but Tony & I went for several test runs to try different tunes to see which ones worked best until we were BOTH happy. I'll tell you this -- the van turbo and his Extreme tune that's on my truck now is AMAZING! I think I'll go back over there for some tweaks after I get the ATS on, but it will have to wait for my work schedule to slow down some. I can't wait to get the injectors in it!!
