I have the rough country #6120 ( i think) add a leafs that I am trying to install on the front end of my 96 psd 4x4. I am somewhat unsure as to what I need to do because they only came with generic instructions and it seems that they are a little too long and "hit" the front piece that holds the springs together. I was thinking about cutting the springs but I don't really want to do that. They are also a little long on the back end and are going to be pressed against the rivets that hold the original two springs together. Am I supposed to just remove all the original spring hardware and let everything be held together by just the u bolts?
What I did was to remove the clamps on either end of the springs and used the new center bolt to hold the packs together. Then when the weight is back on the springs I put the clamps back on. Didn't drill or cut anything, just squeezed them together where they would hold.
