transfer case fluid

I just changed the transfer case fluid on my 97 F150. I used Castrol Mercon V aft that says its good for Mercon or Mercon V specs. I've been reading that I should use only Mercon like the Dex/merc fluid. Will it be all right with stuff I put in or should I change it to the Dex/Merc. Thanks

Mercon is being phased out and all new reference will be to MERCON V. EVERYTHING upgrades to the MERCON V. You did good.

Being in the transfer case it really doesn't matter, the only time you run into problems is with the E4OD and maybe one or two other transmissions that do not take Mercon V.
