Racer X Automotive

Looks like they are out of the office for a week or so and they don't list built transmissions on line but they have them.

jms, welcome to the forum. There are several options for good built trannys. Like Tim said Racer X. But also Brians Truck Shop, Suncoast, ATS are a few. I'm not an auto guy so I really can't say. But one of my guys runs a BTS and he beats the crap out of it and no issues at all.

I will add john wood to the list.
Ats or suncoast would not be on my list.
Really would depend on your location.

I also hear good things about the transmission Diesel Innovations in Houston? is selling. BTS is in Arkansas. Those would be the two closest to you I believe.

I just replaced mine with a Remanned one straight from Ford. Best bang for the buck if your not needing a Bullet proof tranny.

I think it was $2200 with a 3 yr 100,000 mile warranty.

ya but depending on the differance is it better to spend the extra money not to have any trouble out of a trany that is known to have problems

Very true, but when you start getting in the $4000 range and you have core charges and shipping the core, just gets real expensive fast.

X2
Other option is to just build one yourself.

If your in Texas call up David at Diesel Innovations(713)984/9441. He'll take good care of ya and he's not to exspensive at all. Call him up

I run an ATS stage 5 tranny right now and I love it. Its the toughest thing out there IMO, but its exspensive to buy parts from them or in my case awhole tranny which is why most get turned off to them. I have nothing but good to say about BTS as well but you'll be waiting to get a tranny from them which is why I opted to go with ATS, they had my tranny to me in 2 days. Suncoast is tried and true like ATS. John Wood is the man, he builds a heck of a tranny but like BTS you have a waiting period. Best of luck
