Radiator Replacement

Is this a straight forward job? Does it require taking the front clip off at all or anything other than the fan off? Mine took a ****, and i need to replace it. It looks as if its just unbolt, slide about an inch towards the back of the truck, and lift up. Is that the case?

Not a big job at all, remove fan shroud and the rest becomes obvious. just have lots of drip pans ready.

Hahaha... I'll just move it into my rocks, nobody will know that it went everywhere... My street is already covered where I park it. Rust color, this will allow me to clean out the crappy rust colored crap that is in there...

Thanks

You should not need to pull the fan, just take the shroud loose and leave it hangin on the fan.
Be sure and pull the hoses while the radiator is still bolted down tight, because it gives you something to pull against getting the hoses off.
It is a good time to runs some flush thru the cooling system before you put the new rad in place. Also a good time to consider the age and condition of all the hoses, thermostat, and heater core, and rad cap.
Takes more time and money to do the entire system, but increases the chance you won't have to work on the cooling sytem for a long time. Nothing more frustrating than flushing , replacing the rad, fill with nice new antifreez, and blow a hose the next week.
Good Luck Frank

Just don't run cold water through a hot engine...

Also, make sure you use distilled water when you mix the coolant, or use pre-mixed.
